To date I can safely say this bridal editorial has to rank in my top 5 I’ve ever been creatively a part of. It’s whimsical, and imaginative yet mysterious and dramatic.
The florals, by Bloom Babes, brought you into this fantasticly feminine world. Photographer and stylist, Matoli Keely, flawlessly told a story by capturing her gaze and slight body movements. Her silk and frilly robe kept it innocent. And our model, Amber, really brought this simplistic story to life.
I wanted to tie everything together – keep it feminine, light and pure while keeping her somewhat wild.
Her makeup was just that – feminine and natural. I concentrated on keeping very luminous skin overall. I opted for no mascara, keeping the innocence in her face rather than a stark lashy look.
Her hair was where we went a bit more “wild”, if I may. She has a lot of hair to work with, which I thought would be perfect for an updo with pieces falling to frame her face. There was movement and texture, yet nothing too sleek or perfect.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from the editorial.
